The Story Behind Rothwood

Kevin and Swan purchased the Rothwood property with the intention of slowing down and enjoying retirement surrounded by horses and the natural environment that already existed. They were drawn to the peaceful setting and envisioned a slower pace of life. In 2014, they held their own wedding in the gardens, a beautiful and intimate garden wedding that became the first of many.

One of their wedding guests was so taken by the charm of the Rothwood that they asked to get married there too. At the next celebration, another guest fell in love with the venue and also wanted to tie the knot. Word spread, and what began as a private event soon snowballed into something much bigger. Over time, it only made sense to open the gardens to the public, so more couples could create their own unforgettable memories at this special outdoor wedding venue.

Throughout the property, you will notice many of Kevin’s passion projects, from landscaped features to handcrafted details, all of which have helped shape Rothwood into the Perth wedding venue it is today. So much for slowing down.

In Kevin’s words, “It’s unbelievable how things can change at certain times in your life. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would own a wedding venue, let alone be a major part of most couples’ special day in terms of helping, coordinating, and making dreams come true. Every weekend is filled with love and happiness, and it is such a joy to be surrounded by excited couples from all over the world.”
